Guess who's back...?

I'm back baby! Ian the genius IT man has worked his magic and now I'm all up and running....
Here's what I did this weekend:

Friday - cooked dinner for my mommy and watched far too much American Idol whilst drinking just the right amount of pink wine. mmmm....is it wrong that I could totally go for a glass of white grenache now??!!

Saturday - faffed around, visited in-laws, had a conversation with my two-year-old niece about a dead squirrel she had encountered on her walk that morning, did a bit of work (but not much), and then made lasagne for the delightful Lockharts who came to dine with us Saturday night - much MUCH humour involved, they rock. ;)

And then on Sunday I baked a 'Lazy Daisy' cake - the kudos for which must surely go to Mr Ian Millar for the recipe and answering my panicked phone call...it was for my mummy's bday - Happy Birthday Mother Hubbard!

and now it's Monday again....boo.

Issues

Houston, we have a problem! Apologies for the lack of postage my pals! Computer issues are afoot! Words mentioned have included 'ram' 'motherboard' and 'hard drive' - all in the negative sense. I'm thinkin it's not good. Yes, my beloved laptop had died...Ian the IT man is working like a mad thing on it so fingers crossed I'll have it all up and running when I return to 'werk' tomoz.

In the meantime I am posting from my bro's computer...he 'reconfigured' something or other so I could use it - I dunno...I'll never get to grips with this bloody computer malarkey.

Will keep you posted....oh btw THANK YOU for continuing to post comments - I LOVE IT!!!!!

Wednesday, Schmwednesday!

Well hello...sorry for absence of posts yesterday...was at college to DO AN EXAM! A mock exam mind you, but an exam nonetheless. The real thing's in 2 weeks....funny how even after all these years that word can strike fear into the heart of any normal individual.....vivid memories included having about a million pens on your desk, a bottle of water, tissues, lip balm...the feeling of your entire world being reduced to that rickety desk and the desperate need to prepare for every possible eventuality - hence the 9 million pens AND a pencil sharpener (even though you don't have a pencil on your desk!!) Hilarious conversation ensued between 'Candidates' as to who could remember their candidate number from GCSE/A level times....hmmmm yes I still can, I am a nerd indeed.

Other news includes the fact that I have finally demystified the marvel that is Broadband, courtesy of a VERY helpful, not to mention infinitely patient, bloke on the helpline. Hurrah! We can have Broadband and there will be no drilling or cabling of any kind. yay! So as of Tuesday blogging will be a darn sight easier....I am amazed at my computer knowledge....now if I could only work out this link busines....any offers???

A word about cousins

I should mention that Saturday night's event was the Birthday party of Mr Harry Barnes, who turned 9 yesterday. Much cake, merriment and drumming was had by all!

My favourite moment was his gleeful exclamation upon opening his card, 'It's a fluttery one!' - he found a fiver we'd put in his card! Now THAT is true childhood. What a star.

Happy Birthday Haz!

Here is the boy in question slaloming (sp?) down a rather snowy mountain on his recent ski trip. Such skill, such expertise!

Monday Mayhem

Morning all,

Well, what a weekend that was! Annie was truly fantastic and we sang ourselves hoarse. How fabulous to watch a movie where nobody can shush you for singing all the words AND saying all the dialogue because THAT'S THE WHOLE POINT!! I did feel slightly sorry for the couple in front of us though, as they were in direct range of Hann, Kath and myself. However, as the credits rolled they turned around and thanked us for the entertainment. So that was nice. Good one Hanny for arranging it!

Yesterday I stayed in bed until 4pm and read 2 books. Then I got up and finished watching Season 3 of '24' - yes, yes I know I'm behind the times, but hello! I didn't have Sky! So, bring on Season 4 (and if ANYONE tells me what happens I will break friends with you indefinitely)

Have a smashing day.

'The sun'll come out tomorrow...bet your bottom dollar'

The excitement mounts, get on your ginger wig and a pair of tap shoes.....tomorrow we go to sing-along-Annie at the Liverpool Empire!

I'm going with these two crazy peeps, commonly known as the Heart sisters but (L-R) Abbi and Hann. (Sorry gals, didn't have any other pics of us on my work laptop....yes I am at work blogging - naughty!) On the left is the lovely Abigail at her hen do which involved a 1920's theme , and on the right is my other partner in crime, Ms. Hanny Heart at my hen do, no doubt being very naughty judging by my expression!

So watch this space for an Annie report forthwith. Bring it on! Happy Friday everybody!

Someone left a comment!

I am buzzing! Thanks Ulrike - you rock!
Here is a lovely shot by the very famous photographer Cate Thornton of some of the Manchester posse at mine and Rich's wedding. Cazmo stole the show with her amazing hair. The people of Bebington are still talking about it to this day!

I am a computer genius

I flippin' well did it!!! Hopefully, to the left of this text as you face the screen, you should see me and my handsome hubby wearing lovely matching Renault F1 hats. This was taken on honeymoon after our gorg friend Dom fixed it for us to be guests of Renault for the day at the Barcelona Grand Prix (convenient hey Mr Wall!?)

So now you know what we look like and I learned how to make a blog happen! Yay! Now , how do I make people read it...??

Welcome to the 21st century

Well, this is it! Having been inspired by numerous blogs around the globe, (thanks Charis, Oria, Cate, Sal, Sal, Anna, etc etc )I've gone and done it.....only thing is, now I feel an overwhelming pressure to be witty and insightful and deep and meaningful. What if I'm not? A little voice inside me cries'Please still love me anyway...'

This is bizarre...how do u make photos appear anyways??
